According to official data from 2015, only 11% of diagnosed cases in adults were able to start treatment and 63% of confirmed cases in babies did not have access to timely treatment. In 2006, Law 3.374 declared Chagas disease a national priority. However, challenges and barriers remain to implement comprehensive control, prevention and treatment actions. 1w6g5g

Both governmental and civil entities work towards the prevention and control of Chagas disease in Bolivia, which represents one of the most complex scenarios in Latin America.

CUIDA Chagas aims to work in 9 municipalities in three Bolivian departments: Santa Cruz, Chuquisaca and Tarija. The main interventions will be implemented in primary health care services and communities.
